Before you apply any of your moisturizers or serums, place a cool cloth on your face and just relax for a moment. This will help draw the heat away from inflamed or irritated skin. Dip a thick face towel is cool water, squeeze out the excess, and place it on your face.

Rest for around 10 to 15 minutes and just let your skin calm down. You can wet the towel again and place it back on your face if you the skin still feels a little irritated. This will help reduce sensitivity.

Allow your skin to regain its normal temperature before applying moisturizing creams to it. This ensures the creams can sink into the pores and help the repair process. Apply a generous layer of emollient creams that will last for the entire night. Make sure these are completely fragrance-free and don’t cause any irritation. Other helpful oils include Neroli and Rose essential oils. Make sure you perform a patch test for all of these oils before using them. You never know which one would be unsuitable for your skin.
